Clydesdale Boot Camp by Coach Corky Field

Did you play sports in high school or college but you have let your body go and you want to get back your strength and conditioning?

Do you have a “bulge” around your middle and you want to lose weight and feel good about your fitness?

Do you work out at the health club, but it doesn’t seem to be getting you in the condition you want to be in or you aren’t getting as strong as you want to?

If you answer yes to any of those questions or if you want to test your will and motivation in a full-fledged “boot camp” under the direction of a professional, Coach Corky Field has the just the program for you.

Field, the former strength coach at Northern Arizona University, is offering a special Clydesdales Bootcamp starting October 2009.

“The Clydesdales Boot Camp is designed to train average Joes like the pros,” said CoachCorky, the captain and starting fullback on national 1AA champion Southern Illinois football team in 1983. Field was a four-year starter for the Salukis.

“The Clydesdales comes in because it is a powerful, majestic horse with strength, balance and conditioning — the three principles of the boot camp,” Coach Corky said.

The boot camp is open to all men, 21 and over. The first program is scheduled for SIX weeks with sessions from Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Lone Mountain Park at the base of Lone Mountain. And ON the mountain.

Coach Corky’s first Clydesdale Boot Camp is scheduled for Oct. 26th 2009.
“We are going to start with a target of increasing strength, balance and conditioning,” Field said. “It will be a very different, very unique boot camp, probably the first time someone has done a boot camp of this variety.”

Field, who has assisted with other boot camps in Ohio and Las Vegas, will also extensively cover health and nutrition in his boot camp. He has also coached high school wrestling for 25 years.

“The reason we have no equipment is our equipment is going to be the mountain,” Coach Corky said. “The mountain is our project and is our tool.”

“We are going to progressively climb Lone Mountain with physical exercises along the way. We are going to do balance exercises and physical exercises while climbing a mountain.”
Field added the exercises will alternate daily.

The fee for the boot camp is $15 per session. For those who sign up for the full SIX weeks, the rate is $250.
